With warmer weather on the way, we’ll soon be seeing more of our furry (and feathered!) friends around Discovery Ridge. Let’s all do our part to keep everyone safe — both our two-legged and four-legged neighbors! Keep an eye out, drive carefully, and remember: we share this beautiful space with some incredible wildlife. Let’s protect them and enjoy nature together!
Please keep up your water savings until restrictions are lifted. The Bearspaw South Feeder Main is shut down for reinforcement work beginning March 9 for approximately four weeks. During this time it’s critical for residents and businesses to use less water since the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant is supplying most of the city and region and is operating at maximum capacity.
Your DRCA is doing its part by saving water at our recreation facilities.

No outdoor water use is permitted at this time. The City is also asking Calgarians to take steps to reduce their indoor water use by 25 litres per person each day.
We regret to share that Music in the Park 2026 has been cancelled. Unfortunately, without a volunteer team lead to coordinate the event, we are unable to move forward with this year’s concert.
We extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated volunteers who have contributed their time and energy in past years to make this much-loved event possible for Discovery Ridge residents. The many wonderful memories created at Music in the Park are a testament to their hard work and community spirit.
If you are interested in helping bring the event back in 2027, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at events@discoveryridge.com for more information about getting involved.
Due to sustained warm weather and upcoming water restrictions, we have made the decision to close the leisure ice and community rink for the season.
This year brought its share of challenges, but our dedicated rink crews worked tirelessly to provide quality ice for the enjoyment of Discovery Ridge residents. Countless hours were spent in freezing temperatures maintaining the surfaces and extending the season wherever possible.
We extend our sincere gratitude to this exceptional group of volunteers. Their time, effort, and commitment—despite weather and operational obstacles—made another skating season possible for our community.
On behalf of Councillor John Pantazopoulos, we share his invitation to Thursday’s Meet Your Councillor event. Advance registration required. Tickets available on the Meet the Councillor Town Hall page.

If you haven’t renewed yet, please do so in advance through our Membership page.
For the safety of the rink and to preserve the ice for future use, we have decided to close the rink until temperatures drop sufficiently to allow the surface to freeze.
We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Thank you for your continued support. — Discovery Ridge Rink Crew
For more than 10 years, the Discovery Ridge Stampede Round Up has brought neighbours together to celebrate community, connection, and a little Stampede spirit. Planning for the 2026 event is getting underway, and we’re excited for another great year.
These events wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors. We are grateful to Kristin Mould of Kristin Mould Boutique Real Estate, CIR Realty, who has been our Title Sponsor for the past four years. As she shifts her business focus, Kristin will be stepping back from sponsorship in 2026—and we thank her sincerely for her incredible support.
We’re now inviting new sponsors to be part of the 2026 Stampede Round Up. If you’re a local business—or know one that would love to support this much-loved community event—we’d be happy to connect. Please reach out to us at events@discoveryridge.com.
With thanks to our 2025 Stampede Round Up sponsors:
Please note that the venue has been changed to Ambrose University (150 Ambrose Circle SW).
As part of The City’s Pond Maintenance and Dam Safety Programs, engineering and condition assessments were completed on the Discovery Ridge Dam (Discovery Ridge Pond – just west of Discovery Ridge Gardens). The assessments showed that a portion of the dam’s embankment had potential slope stability risks and a dam safety review outlined several additional deficiencies.
