Volunteers Needed

Our community events don’t just happen — they come to life because neighbours roll up their sleeves, pitch in, and have fun doing it together. Right now, we are critically short on volunteers for THREE major upcoming events, and we truly need the community’s help. Whether you sign up with a group of friends, volunteer alongside your family, or come solo and meet new neighbours, it’s a great way to connect, laugh, and be part of something meaningful. The reality is that without more volunteers stepping forward, some of these beloved events may not continue in future years. Come help us keep the fun, connection, and community spirit alive in Discovery Ridge.

Whether you can give a few hours at one event or join us longer-term, your help truly makes a difference. These events bring families together, create memories for our kids, strengthen our community, and make Discovery Ridge such a special place to live.

The reality is simple: without volunteers, beloved community events will continue to be scaled back — or cancelled altogether.

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Community Cleanup
June 13 | 9am–2pm

This is a combined event with three neighbouring communities — and unfortunately Discovery Ridge currently has only THREE volunteers signed up when we need 21.

If our community does not help support this event, there is a very real possibility we may not be invited to participate in future years. This annual clean-up is an incredibly valuable service for residents to dispose of unwanted household items close to home.

Even volunteering for a few hours can make a huge difference. The shifts are short—only two hours each shift.

Stampede RoundUp
June 20 | 4pm – 7pm

Our super fun family event is back with games, food trucks, music, activities, and more — but we need volunteers to help during the event. Sign up for a short 90-minute volunteer shift with a friend!!

DRCA Casino Fundraiser
July 30–31 – see shifts on the sign up page

This single casino fundraiser brings in approximately $80,000–$90,000 for our community and helps fund events, programs, advocacy, and amenities for Discovery Ridge residents.

In order for the casino fundraiser to move forward, we MUST fully staff every volunteer position — and right now, we are still short on volunteers. The good news? People are always surprised by how much fun this event is! One group of Discovery Ridge neighbours has volunteered together year after year and now treats it like a night out. Come with friends, sign up with your family (all volunteers must be at least 18), or join on your own and meet some new neighbours while helping support our community. We truly just need more bodies to make this happen — and many hands make for a fun and memorable experience!
