Volunteers Needed for MITP

I hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer! While it’s sad to see it coming closer to the end, it means that Music in the Park is just around the corner!

Plans are well underway for another fabulous event. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 6, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the Discovery Ridge recreation facility (by the rinks). We have an incredible line up of musicians this year, along with 5 brand-new food trucks, and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Full event details and the live music schedule available here: discoveryridge.com/music-in-the-park

To make our event a success we need your help! There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes as well as on event day. Here is where we can use your support:

  • Event Set-Up (12:30 – 2:30 PM) Help set up tents, tables, chairs, garbage and recycle bins.
  • Gate Attendants (Shifts: 3:00 – 5:00 PM & 5:00 – 7:00 PM) Welcome guests and monitor entry and exit. Admission is free for DRCA members and their families; donations are appreciated from non-members. Please note no pets allowed.
  • Ticket Sellers (Shifts: 3:00 – 5:00 PM & 5:00 – 7:00 PM) Sell beer and wine tickets using a Square reader (you will use your own phone).
  • Event Take-Down (Starts at 7:00 PM) May take about one hour to take down tents, put away tables and chairs, pick up garbage and do a final clean-up of the area.
  • First Aid Certification: If you will be attending the event and have First Aid Certification, we would appreciate you sharing your name and cell number with us in case your assistance is needed. Please note serious medical concerns will be immediately dealt with by calling 911.

If you’re able to help out, contact volunteer@discoveryridge.com to let us know which role and shift you’d prefer. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out!
