SUMMARY:2025 Community Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:The Discovery Ridge Community Association\, alongside the Signal Hill and Springbank Hill communities\, are planning a community cleanup day where we will have multiple city garbage trucks in a parking lot to assist you in removing some unwanted items from your home. Think of things like old electronics\, tires\, wood\, mattresses\, chairs\, beds\, landscaping\, etc. \nThe City will provide trucks to collect garbage going to the landfill. Other recycling vendors include: metal\, electronics\, tires\, and household donations. The Drop-In Centre is accepting any furniture.  \nUnfortunately\, we cannot accept organics\, chemicals\, contaminated materials\, or hazardous items. Household hazardous waste can be dropped off at the Lincoln Park/Garrison Green Fire Station #20 at 2800 Peacekeepers Way SW. \nWe are always looking for volunteers to help with the event. Please contact volunteer@discoveryridge.com if you are interested in helping out.

DESCRIPTION:Agenda\nThe business of the Annual Meeting will include: \n\n– Greetings from Councillor Sonya Sharp\n– President’s Report\n– Treasurer’s Report and Audited Financial Statements\n– Appointment of Auditor\n– Committee updates\n– Election of Executives and Directors\nGeneral Notes\nAny member in good standing shall be entitled to one vote\, in person or by proxy\, at any General\, Special or Annual Meeting of the Association. \nAll DRCA Executives and Directors must be current DRCA members. \nElection of the Executive and Directors: \nNominations should be emailed to: secretary@discoveryridge.com. Only current members are eligible to nominate someone. Each member can only nominate one person for one position in a fiscal year.\nThe Board of Directors\, or Board\, shall mean the Board of Directors of the Association. The Executive Committee of the Board shall be defined as the President\, any number of Vice-Presidents\, the Past President (if any)\, the Secretary and the Treasurer.\nAll members of the Executive Committee and other directors who frequently handle funds of the Association shall have a Police Check (or Security Clearance) completed once every three years within one month of the Annual Meeting. All costs for the police check will be covered by the Association.\nThe Executive Committee positions (other than the Past President) shall be elected or confirmed by a simple majority vote of members present at the Annual Meeting.\nThere shall be a minimum of six members and a maximum of twenty members elected to the Board of Directors annually including the Executive Committee positions. A member may stand for election to only one Executive position per year\, but may also concurrently stand for election as a Director should they fail in their bid for an Executive position.
